March is Women’s History Month. The month’s theme celebrates women who advocate for equity, diversity, and inclusion. The theme recognizes women who understand the need to eliminate bias and discrimination from individuals' lives and institutions. Meaning that they're celebrating women who had a voice in equal rights, as in everyone should be treated the same.

My Biggest Inspiration

Everyone has an important woman in their life. My ultimate inspiration comes from my best friend, the amazing woman from whom I received my name and my life - my mother. The woman who has made the most impact on my life and has shaped me into the person I am today. She has guided me through these 15 years of my life and continues to do so. I don't know if she has ever realized that the person I most want to become like is her. I have seen my mother overcome every obstacle that life has put in her way. She has gone through hard times, she has cried, and has been exhausted, but those events have only made her stronger every day. Despite all that, she has always woken up with energy and given her all to be the best mom in the world. My mom has done everything for us. She came to the U.S along with my dad, wanting to give us a better life than she ever had. Regardless of coming here with nothing, she gave us everything we needed and more.

My Sister

Although my mom is my biggest inspiration, the person who I share my last name and blood with is also inspiring - my sister. It is by her example that I want to become someone like her. My sister has taught me a lot of things; she's taught me that change is okay, growing up is a part of life, and that moving houses is a part of life. She has always taken care of me when my parents were busy working and has seen me grow into the teenager I am today. My sister never gave me any idea that I couldn't do whatever I wanted to do or be whoever I wanted to be. I don't think she has any idea of how much I look up to her and that she is my role model. I watched her stay up late, studying her notes to pass her finals, crying, and stressing over school. She showed me that not giving up is crucial, and regardless of people telling her that a career in engineering was only for men. She didn't let that get to her and decided to keep studying and followed her dreams. She has influenced me to be a better person, friend, daughter, and much more. She is more than just my sister; she is my friend, the person who's been by my side the day no one else has. She has made me stronger in ways she does not realize and I will forever be grateful to her, which is why I call her my second mom.

Although this doesn't really relate to this year's theme for Women’s History Month, these women have made an impact in my life, and they are the most important women in my life. Despite all the arguments, they have filled my life with fun, love, and much more. They have made me who I am today and inspired me to be like them in the future.
